Classroom Bully 200m WI5
First ascent: Jim Montgomery, Todd Cozzens, Judd Stewart January 10 1992
Classroom Bully is easily viewed from the valley below as one of the highest pieces of continuous ice in the upper left part of the Schoolhouse Drainage. The top pitches rarely form to touch the ground which makes this climb rare. There is also a ton of snow groveling between pitches. While climbing the 3rd pitch of Schoolhouse you will want to take the left exit which will take you up the Classroom Bully drainage. After about a 10 minute hike you will find yourself at the base of the first pitch which is named Dunces Corner. Dunces Corner pitch is well worth the trip. This pitch also rarely forms as a complete ice climb and is more then often found in mixed conditions.
Route
Bring your rock rack and prepare for a spicy lead on the 1st pitch Dunces Corner. After this pitch you will continue up the drainage with hiking in between pitches of short curtains until the final long pitch of double curtains. Be aware this drainage can fill up with a lot of snow the higher you go. You can descend via trees most of the way down.
